A 39-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday near a nightclub in Midtown Manhattan. The New York City Police Department reported that the shooter is still at large. This incident occurred just a week after New York Jets player Kris Boyd was shot outside a nearby restaurant.

Police received a call at approximately 4:13 a.m. about a shooting near a nightclub located on West 46th Street and 12th Avenue, close to the Intrepid Museum. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with gunshot wounds to his back and groin. He was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities are actively working to identify the suspect involved in this shooting. This violence follows the unrelated shooting of 29-year-old Kris Boyd, a defensive back for the Jets, which took place on November 16. Boyd was shot around 2 a.m. after leaving the restaurant Sei Less, located at 156 W. 38th Street, about two miles from the latest shooting.

According to police, Boyd was involved in a confrontation with another group after he and his friends exited the restaurant. He remains hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his lung. Jets coach Aaron Glenn stated that he has spoken with Boyd and is optimistic about his recovery.

The altercation that led to Boyd's shooting reportedly began over comments made about their clothing. While no arrests have been made in that case either, police have identified a potential suspect and are seeking to question him. The investigation into both shootings is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
