WEST LAFAYETTE — After a creaky first week, Purdue men’s basketball heads to the Bahamas in a better rhythm.

The No. 1 Boilermakers walloped Akron 97-79 on Sunday night. Five players scored in double figures, and three posted double-doubles.

And the complete team effort led coach Matt Painter to his 500th win.
