Synopsis: The victims had embarked on the pilgrimage through the same travel agency. They were returning to Madinah in the Hejaz region of western Saudi Arabia from Mecca after completing the rituals when the accident occurred. Most of them were asleep when the bus crashed.

At least 42 Umrah pilgrims from India are feared killed after a bus they were travelling in from Mecca to Madinah caught fire after colliding with a diesel tanker early on Monday, 17 November.

Initial reports said around 2o women and 11 children were from Hyderabad, Telangana. At least 16 of them were from Mallepally Bazaar Ghat in the state capital.
