A bushfire that shut Brand Highway, north of Gingin, has been contained after it erupted at midday on Monday.
The fire was reported burning in the Moore River National Park near the intersection of Brand Highway and Red Gully Rd.
The blaze was downgraded to an advice level just before 2pm, after multiple fire trucks and water bombers doused the flames.
The fire was moving quickly in a northerly direction earlier but has been contained with no further threat to lives and homes.
However, the bushfire isn’t under control yet.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services urged residents to still to stay alert and monitor their surroundings.
“Be aware of other potential dangers such as falling trees and damaged properties and infrastructure,” the advice read.
