The first task of Middlesbrough’s new head coach will be to fine tune his attack. OK, the victory against Birmingham was wonderful to watch with the way in which every player did his best for the badge.

It was a fabulous match and atmosphere, with the players running themselves into the ground and the fans noisier than ever in the stands. Yet, again, both of the goals were scored by a defender and a midfielder. It’s taken Boro back in second position, but over the course of a full season you won’t win anything unless you get a fair number of goals from your attackers.
