Local youths in Tinsukia detained 44 suspected individuals at the Tinsukia Railway Station on Monday morning, prompting security agencies to initiate verification procedures.
According to reports, the group had arrived from Jammu and Kashmir and were reportedly brought to the region by a contractor for work.
“We stopped 44 people who were moving around the station. When questioned, they said they were from Jammu and Kashmir and had come here for work. A contractor named Kadhim Ali had brought them for a project in Arunachal Pradesh,” said a local youth involved in the detention.
