Free agent first baseman Josh Naylor has agreed to re-sign with the Seattle Mariners on a five-year contract, multiple media outlets reported on Sunday night.
Financial terms weren’t reported, with the deal pending a physical to make it official, per reports.
Seattle had acquired Naylor, 28, from the Arizona Diamondbacks for left-hander Brandyn Garcia and minor league pitcher Ashton Izzi on July 24, ahead of the trade deadline.
Naylor batted .299 with nine home runs, 33 RBIs, a .341 on-base percentage and .490 slugging percentage in 54 regular-season games as the Mariners won the American League West.
He batted .340 with three homers, five RBIs, a .392 on-base percentage and .574 slugging percentage in 12 playoff games as Seattle reached Game 7 of the American League Championship Serie
