Department for Communities urged to acknowledge slave owners in US history programme

Around £150,000 has been made available by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons for local organisations seeking to take part in USA-NI 250 — a public history programme that will showcase the ties between what is now Northern Ireland and the founding of the US, as the country prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of the American revolution.
