With the fog season beginning, the Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified security measures against drone threats along the India–Pakistan border in Punjab, as smugglers exploit low visibility to use drones for dropping heroin and weapons, an official said.

BSF IG Atul Fulzele told the media, “During the fog season, visibility becomes very low, and in such conditions, smugglers use drones to drop heroin and weapons. They try to exploit this vulnerability, but we have made full arrangements to counter it.”

The officer added that during foggy conditions, when visibility is poor, special surveillance equipment is used.
