CINCINNATI —
With less than two weeks until Thanksgiving, families who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits are feeling the impact of the federal freeze.
November benefits are now starting to be issued, but area food banks say they're still bracing for a record number of people in need. Advertisement
The government shutdown left the 42 million who receive federal food assistance unavailable to use their full benefits this month. This includes more than 90,000 Hamilton County residents, about 43,000 of whom are children.
However, locally, both the city of Cincinnati and community members are finding other ways to get aid to those most in need.
