Jahangir Kabir Nanak, a former minister in Sheikh Hasina ’s government, has publicly denounced the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)’s verdict against the ousted leader, calling it a “pre-determined" and politically motivated judgment.
The tribunal was trying Hasina in absentia on charges of crimes against humanity . Prosecutors accused her of orchestrating a brutal crackdown on the 2024 student-led protests that later escalated into widespread unrest. Handing her a death sentence, the tribunal said Hasina had committed crimes against humanity.
According to Nanak, the verdict is nothing more than a “kangaroo court", with its outcome decided in advance. He claimed that the charges, including orders to use drones, helicopters, and lethal force against citizen
