Medina, Nov 17: A 24-year-old man from Hyderabad, Mohd Abdul Shoiab, is the lone known survivor of the tragic bus accident that claimed the lives of 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims near Medina on Monday. According to sources, Shoiab was seated close to the driver when the bus travelling from Mecca to Medina collided with a diesel tanker in the early hours.
Shoiab has been admitted to a hospital in Saudi Arabia, though his medical condition remains unclear. The ill-fated vehicle was carrying around 46 passengers when it crashed into the oil tanker at approximately 1:30 am (IST).
