Perth’s public transport system was thrown into chaos just in time for Monday afternoon’s peak hour traffic following what Transperth described as a partial train derailment near Bayswater.
Transperth said three of its train lines were cancelled just after 3pm following the incident.
A train has partially derailed near Bayswater on Monday afternoon, sparking commuter chaos.
“There has been a service disruption as two bogies from a railcar have partially come off the tracks while departing Bayswater Station at low speed this afternoon,” a spokesperson said.
“The train has come to a stop with all passengers safely evacuated.
“The PTA is investigating the cause of the incident.”
Trains on the Perth Airport, Ellenbrook and Midland lines are cancelled between Perth and Ellenbrook.
