As a surgical oncologist specializing in breast and melanoma cancers, Dr. Rami Younan works flat out on most days, operating on patient after patient at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal on St-Denis St.
And when he’s not excising tumours, Younan is holding clinics at the CHUM cancer centre: on a blustery November morning that started at 7 a.m., he examined 46 patients before shuffling out of the hospital at 6:30 p.m.
“On a personal level, I love my profession,” Younan confided after another long day. “It’s very rewarding treating cancer patients. That’s why I chose this discipline.”
