11 EMTs and paramedics are suing the Waverly Health Center for alleged unpaid wages, according to the Iowa Capital Dispatch. The plaintiffs in the case are Nicole White, Brent Smeins, Miria Schuster, Dave Wedeking, Devontez Roberts, Jeff Mason, Kimberly Browning, Anthony Haubrich, Gayle Robinson, Leland Williams, and Kerigan Kammeyer. They all worked a regular rotating scheduled of a 24 hour shift on and 48 hours off, with occasional additional hours. In August of 2024 it was announced that the WHC would pay hourly employees a shift differential of $2 to $15 per hour depending on the hours they worked. The plaintiffs say they received emails requiring them to review and acknowledge the policies electronically, but they say those shift differentials were never paid to them. The lawsuit seek
