Stylist Dione Davis has a background in movement and ballet, which serves her well when considering how clothing moves and elongates the lines of the body. She pulls from her own style as well as her dance career: “I self-reference a lot, which I think is an important practice,” Davis explains. “Every era of your life is so different, so self-referencing isn’t repetitive — it’s evolution.” To Davis, styling is all about strategy, which could mean adding more but usually means taking things away until a look feels complete. “I love playing mental Tetris with looks.”
