Shoppers have been left gobsmacked after a £20 tube of toothpaste was spotted on the shelves of popular supermarket in Birmingham .

The Oral-B Intensive Whitening toothpaste was discovered at Sheldon's Tesco Superstore on the Coventry Road carrying a £20 price tag, while at Express Whitening item was priced at a tenner.

But, these prices are surprisingly not out of the blue at supermarkets around the country as everyday toothpastes including Colgate and Oral-B can now costing Brits between £8 and £10.

The 75ml tube of Colgate Max White Ultra was also spotted at the same Tesco priced at £9.50 without a loyalty card and £5 with one.
