Rory McIlroy might have missed out on top prize at the DP World Tour Championship, but his 2025 earnings are still staggering.
The Northern Irishman came agonisingly close to the perfect end to an historic year at the season-ending tournament in Dubai, as he lost out to Matt Fitzpatrick in a thrilling play-off finale .
McIlroy forced the decider with a final-hole eagle, but Fitzpatrick kept his cool when it mattered to bag the $3m (£2.2m) winners' reward.
Despite this, it was success all round, as McIlroy's exploits were enough to clinch a fourth straight Race to Dubai title.
It was also a seventh year-end title for the 36-year-old, putting him just one behind Colin Montgomerie overall , who boasts eight.
