DUNLAP, Ill. – The Illinois Elementary School Association has selected Dunlap High School’s Shauna Segler as the Outstanding Speech Educator for the 2025-26 school year.

Segler is being honored for her work as a Speech Coach at Dunlap Middle School.

Dunlap District 323 officials say this is an incredible honor and that they are thankful for Segler’s dedication to her students.

This is the first year that the National Federation of State High School Associations has recognized teachers at the middle school level.

After being recognized as Illinois’ Outstanding Speech Educator of the Year, Segler is now a nominee for national recognition from the NFHS.
