The former Costa Magica has reportedly been sold to Tianjin Orient International Cruises, according to reports on Chinese social media from travel advisors who were made aware of the company’s plans.
The 2003-built ship has been laid up in Greece under Seajets ownership since it was sold to the Greek ferry operator in 2023.
Seajets was behind the failed start up brand Neonyx in for the summer of 2024 , which had intended to offer a short cruise product in Greece but never got off the ground.
Now the ship is apparently soon to be on the way to Asia, and according to one travel agency social media post, will sail from Tianjin as the Ideal starting in summer 2026.
