Sleet warning for Warwickshire in just hours as gritters to be called into action

Gritters will be hitting the streets of Warwickshire as sleet is forecast to fall. That is according Warwickshire County Council highways

It has posted on social media, including X, that the county's team of gritters will be called into action later tonight (November 17). They are scheduled to start gritting main roads from 7pm.

"Cold evening ahead with some sleet through the night, gritting at 19:00," the post reads. The action comes as temperatures are set to fall throughout this weekend.

The wind and rain that swept our area courtesy of Storm Claudia, bringing localised flooding, is being replaced by plunging temperatures set to hit as low as -2C some evenings.
