Bomb threat at Vizhinjam; extensive inspections at South Indian Bank branch and shipping company that transports goods to port

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bomb threat at a bank in Vizhinjam. The incident took place at the South Indian Bank branch in Mukkola, Vizhinjam. The fake threat message was received through the bank's official email at around 7 am today. The bank manager saw the threat message when the bank started functioning at around 10 am.

The employees ran out of the bank in panic and later informed the police after the manager saw the message. A team led by Vizhinjam SHO Sunish Gopi arrived at the scene, secured the area, and conducted extensive inspections with dog squads and a bomb disposal team.

The investigation extended to a shipping company office located in the same building, which transports goods to the nearby Vizhinjam port project site. After thorough searches of both premises, no explosives or su
