Middlesbrough are closing in on a deal that will see Hammarby boss Kim Hellberg become the club’s new manager.

Reports in Sweden claim that the manager has verbally agreed a deal to arrive at Riverside Stadium , with the club beating off competition from Championship rivals Swansea City. Should the deal go through, it will see him replace Rob Edwards in the managerial hot seat.

Edward completed a move to Premier League strugglers Wolves last week, after spending just a matter of months with ‘ Boro . In that time, he led the club to second in the Championship table.
