SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Consider the guard officially changed.

Minnesota native and curling legend John Shuster will not achieve his dream of a sixth Olympic berth after his rink was set down by a crew led by Skipper Danny "Cardiac" Casper in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Team Casper dethroned Team Shuster in a nail-biting, 3-game Olympic Trials final, all but cementing a trip to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy. Casper and crew won Friday's game, and then Team Shuster triumphed in Game 2 Saturday, setting up Sunday's showdown.
