It seems some politicians have forgotten their actions have consequences.

The Alberta government’s recent decision not only to force striking public school teachers back to work but also unilaterally impose a contract on them is the most glaring example of this in recent political history.

It’s not only what the government did but also how.

Pre-emptive use of the Constitution’s notwithstanding clause has rightly caused alarm bells to go off, topped off with concern about how else the the province would choose to use it.
