GRUVER, Texas (KFDA) - Ruben makes his way to Gruver where he visits the local library and learns how they are proud to be a gathering place for the town.
Librarian Melyn Johnson says the Nielsens started the library for a love of reading.
“The Nielsens represent who our best citizens are now, and that’s somebody that will give back to the community in whatever way is given to them,” said Johnson. “Because we have to support one another and we have to make things available to one another.”
Johnson says she thinks the library is important as it’s a place for people to gather and where knowledge is encouraged.
The library hosts story time in English from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays and in Spanish from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesdays.
