Fans flooded into the streets to cheer, sing and holler at the cordoned-off intersection of Albert Street and Victoria Avenue — also known as the Green Mile. A chorus of honking could be heard on the periphery as fans hurried downtown to park their vehicles and join in on the party. Article content Article content
The festivities began immediately after Saskatchewan beat the Montreal Alouettes 25-17 at Winnipeg’s Princess Auto Stadium, giving the Riders their first Grey Cup title since 2013 and the fifth in franchise history.
