Bloomfield Township police are investigating the reported theft of more than $1,700 worth of merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods located at 2105 S. Telegraph Rd.

According to police, the suspect — described as a heavyset black woman, age 30 to 40 years old —was seen grabbing “excessive amounts of clothing” from the store’s racks and then fleeing without paying. She reportedly left the area in a red SUV.

It happened on Nov. 10, just before 8 p.m., police said.

Nike Tech sweatshirts and Nike Tech sweatpants are among the stolen items, police said.
