MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. — A Marlboro County EMS employee has been arrested following a suspicious fire at a building on Nov. 12.
Hunter McDaniel has been charged with second-degree arson, according to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
McDaniel is accused of intentionally setting a fire inside the EMS building in McColl while on duty, using an electric heater and clothing as the ignition source, WMBF reported.
Two employees were inside the building when the fire started, WPDE reported.
During McDaniel’s bond hearing, Marlboro County lead investigator C. Bulusan spoke about the investigation.
