A house fire near the 4100 block of Raybun St. claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman Sunday night.
Around 7:30 p.m., Savannah Fire Department arrived to the neighborhood to find heavy smoke and visible flames. Crews controlled the fire within minutes and a search found one woman inside the home.
She was removed, given life saving measures at the scene and transported by emergency medical services where she succumbed to her injuries.
The victim was the only person inside at the time of the fire as the two other residents were not home.
The Savannah Fire Arson Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
