MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A former Manatee County administrator is asking a judge to dismiss criminal charges against him.
Scott Hopes faces allegations of forging documents, destroying records, and defrauding the county of thousands of dollars. Prosecutors say Hopes submitted incorrect time cards that resulted in the county overpaying him thousands of dollars.

The charges stem from alleged crimes committed while Hopes served as a public official. He also previously served as a Manatee County School Board member.
A hearing on Hopes’ motion to dismiss the charges is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday in a Manatee County courtroom.
