A dog living in a California animal rescue for over two years has the cards stacked against him due to his age, color and breed, a Facebook post stated in a plea for adopters.

Jack, a senior black pit bull , arrived at Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue over 852 days ago after his previous rescue center closed its doors. During that time, the rescue organization spent time working with Jack and helping him build his confidence, as he tends to be a shy dog.

In an October 30 Facebook post by Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue, workers shared a glimpse into Jack's daily routine. It starts with happy tapping and dancing, as he loves to go for walks. And for a 7-year-old dog, he walks well with a "surprising amount of pep in his step," followed by playtime in the yard and in the kiddie pool.
