NEW ORLEANS —

Louisiana residents are now receiving full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, with some recipients receiving an additional 25% in benefits.

According to Landry, older adults and those who are disabled will end up with 25% more in benefits from the state-funded assistance issued from Nov. 1 to Nov. 4.

The announcement comes just days after the longest government shutdown in history ended.
