GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Mary Duckett, activist and lifelong Greenville resident, has passed away.

Duckett lived in Greenville’s Southerside neighborhood her whole life and was dedicated to improving it.

She was instrumental in the development of Unity Park, a space that transformed two previously segregated parks into a park for everyone to enjoy.

As a Southernside Neighborhoods in Action leader, she spearheaded the efforts to build affordable housing for senior Greenville residents at Southernside Senior Living .
