KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Dolly Parton Sunday night joined an exclusive list of people who received honorary Oscars at the 16th Governors Awards.

The Queen of Country music received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The recognition goes to those who show “outstanding contribution to humanitarian causes.”

The mastermind behind campaigns like the Imagination Library, Dolly’s known for her generosity. It’s something she said in an acceptance video that her parents instilled in her.

“I grew up in a house with 12 kids. Now that alone teaches you how important sharing is,” she said. “Don’t get me wrong, we didn’t have that much to share, but my mom and daddy showed me, by example, that the more you give, the more blessings come your way
