BRIGHTON — A Jerseyville man with a lengthy criminal record faces multiple new charges following an incident involving a Brighton Police officer on Nov. 11, 2025.Michael A. Malloy, 45, was charged Nov. 12, 2025, with one count of aggravated battery to a peace officer, a Class 2 felony. The charge stems from allegations that Malloy pushed and struggled with the officer during the encounter.The following day, Nov. 13, Malloy was charged in Jersey County with aggravated stalking, a Class 3 felony, as well as violation of an order of protection and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, both Class 4 felonies.Malloy’s criminal history dates back to at least 1998 and includes convictions for violent crimes such as stalking, violating an order of protection, and kidnapping.
