The grant, awarded by Film Independent and the Alfred P Sloan Foundation, supports narrative features that meaningfully explore science or technology and helps them reach wider audiences.
With its US theatrical run completed and all eligibility criteria met, the film is now in contention for the Best Original Screenplay category.
