Disney has released the first teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of "Moana," starring Catherine Lagaʻaia as the titular character.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who voiced Moana's demigod pal Maui in the animated musical films, is back for the remake in the same role. He also shared the trailer on his Instagram account .

Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced the character of Moana in the animated features “Moana” and “Moana 2,” is an executive producer on the film.

Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail, who directed "Hamilton," is directing the Disney film.

The teaser trailer released Monday offers a look at Moana's island of Motunui and the world beyond, and gives a couple brief glimpses of Johnson's character.
