The New York Jets are making a change at quarterback.
Tyrod Taylor will be the starting quarterback in Week 12 over Justin Fields, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday .
The move comes after Fields went 15-of-26 for 116 yards and a touchdown in New York’s 27-14 loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
Jets owner Woody Johnson hinted a change could be coming in October when he chimed in on the quarterback situation , saying something wasn’t “jiving” for Fields.
Fields’ 37.7 quarterback rating ranks 30th in the NFL.
The Jets signed Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract in March after spending 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a strong performance in Week 1 against his former team, but hasn’t been able to continue that momentum.
