The 1990 classic, starring McCauley Caulkin forever changed 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka.

35 years later, the original owner of the Winnetka home is sharing all his stories in a new memoir.

John Abendshein wrote "Home, But Alone No More."

In the book, he shares the story of living in the house as crews filmed the iconic Christmas movie.

"We had a large master bedroom suite that we converted into an apartment," he said. "As long as we kept out of the camera eye...we were free to roam and watch scenes as they were being filmed."
