A woman was arrested Friday after a dispute erupted over an unleashed dog in a New Smyrna Beach neighborhood, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the victim reported that a resident yelled at her to leash her dog, then threw coffee on the dog and later on her and her baby as they stood by a locked gate.

The victim recorded the encounter.

In the video, deputies saw the suspect, identified as Nina Jaaskelainen, behind a gated fence holding a light-colored mug.

They said that the victim, her infant and the dog had dried coffee on them.

Jaaskelainen told deputies she threw coffee at the dog because it upset her own dog and believed they were on her property, but denied intentionally throwing coffee on the victims and the child.
