EUREKA SPRINGS -- The suspect in a double homicide last week in Carroll County is dead after authorities say he killed himself while being held in an Oklahoma jail.
Travis Lee McConnell, 56, was arrested around 1:58 p.m. Friday by investigators with the 18th District Attorney's Office in Pittsburg County, Okla., and U.S. marshals on suspicion of killing his parents and assaulting a woman in a separate incident in Missouri, according to a news release Monday from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
The release from Sheriff Daniel Klatt states McConnell was suspected of killing his parents -- Joy Bennett Willmeth, 77, and Robert Leo Willmeth, 71 -- whom deputies found dead at their home in the 3000 block of West U.S. 62 on Friday. Both Willmeths had suffered gunshot wounds, according to t
