MINNEAPOLIS — Union leaders representing more than 200 food workers at MSP International Airport said they will strike during one of the busiest travel periods of the year unless the company they work for steps up.
HMSHost operates multiple well-known brands at MSP, like Shake Shack, Chili’s, Starbucks, Firehouse Subs, Smashburger, Chick-fil-A, The Cocktail Room and Hissho Sushi Bar in Terminal 1, and The Wild Sports Bar, Starbucks, and The Market Place in Terminal 2.
Geof Paquette, Lead Internal Organizer for UNITE HERE Local 17, said members are set to strike on Nov. 24, 25 and 26, adding that the deadline for a new fair contract is midnight on Sunday, Nov. 23.
