Srinagar, Nov 17: In a significant push to strengthen Kashmir’s railway operations ahead of winter, Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma on Monday carried out an intensive station-to-station inspection of the Srinagar–Baramulla rail corridor, issuing clear directives to expedite ongoing works and reinforce safety protocols.

Accompanied by Jammu Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar and senior officials, Verma spent the day reviewing the 60-km stretch, which forms a key operational segment of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. The team visited multiple stations along the route, assessing infrastructure gaps, passenger footfall management, and preparedness for winter operations.
