New York City's mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani confirmed Monday that his team has reached out to the White House to set up a meeting with President Trump. This comes after Trump told reporters Sunday evening that Mamdani wanted to visit Washington, D.C. for a meeting and that he would "work something out." Trump was a vocal critic of Mamdani throughout the NYC mayoral race, and eventually endorsed his opponent Andrew Cuomo. During Mamdani's election night victory speech, he called out Trump directly, telling him to "turn the volume up." Mamdani said he would bring up issues that effect New Yorkers, such as affordability.
