Queensland parents are seeking clarity over how authorities are dealing with potentially contaminated coloured sand that's sparked a national recall and the closure of multiple schools.
Almost 70 schools in Canberra and one school in Brisbane were shut on Monday after coloured sand containing traces of tremolite — a type of naturally occurring asbestos — was recalled.
Twenty-five public schools in Canberra will remain closed on Tuesday, while dozens will reopen or partially open.
