The family of a 'dedicated and compassionate' nurse who died three days after she was sent home from a hospital with a 'diagnosis of indigestion' say she was 'let down' by the NHS in her hour of need.
Mum Paula Ivers - described by her sister as a 'fierce advocate and defender of the NHS' - was found collapsed on the floor of her bedroom by her young daughter at their home in Denton , Tameside, and later pronounced dead.
An inquest into the 47 year-old's death heard she attended Tameside Hospital A&E three days earlier with 'horrendous' chest pain she described as 'worse than childbirth', but was sent home after having been 'reassured' it was not 'coming from the heart'.
