Layne Beachley and Oscar Piastri have both been honoured with peak awards at the Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) in Melbourne.
Piastri's breakout start to the Formula 1 season earned him the peak Don Award, while surfing great Beachley won the Dawn Award at Monday night's annual ceremony in Melbourne.
Seven-time world champion Beachley was honoured for her pivotal contribution to surfing and the significant obstacles she overcame.
The Dawn was introduced to the hall of fame awards four years ago, honouring new patron Dawn Fraser. It recognises an individual or group that has shown courage and bravery and changed sport for the better.
Named after Sir Donald Bradman, The Don honours the Australian sporting star who has most "inspired the nation" over the past year.
