A woman walking in East Bremerton was struck and killed by a car Sunday morning in what Bremerton police suspect is a hit-and-run.

The Bremerton Police Department said that the victim was in the area of Wheaton Way and Ivy Road, a few blocks north of Sylvan Way, just before 6 a.m. when the collision occurred. According to BPD, there are several leads at this time in the investigation, but other details will not be released.

The release of the victim's identity is pending notification of the family. That information as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Kitsap County Medical Examiner.
