A man has been arrested on a murder charge in the fatal shooting in Lauderdale Lakes of an influencer who he's been in a relationship with for several years, authorities said.

Shanoyd Whyte Jr., 25, is facing a first-degree murder charge in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Maurice Harrison, also known as Girlalala, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said. Broward Sheriff's Office

Girlalala, a popular hairstylist from Pompano Beach, had over 235,000 followers on TikTok and tens of thousands of followers on Instagram.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday near the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street.

BSO officials said when deputies and fire rescue crews responded, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the front seat of a vehicle.
